Friday: The National Christmas Tree, now lit, opens for public viewing | Dolly Disco, a country dance party, takes over the 9:30 Club (8 pm)
Saturday: The U.S. men’s soccer team takes on Netherlands in the round of 16 - lots of area bars will show the game (10 am) | City Ridge in Northwest DC lights their inaugural tree as part of an overall holiday celebration (4-8 pm) | Two holiday boat parades Saturday: Alexandria hosts their parade along their old town waterfront (5:30 pm) while The Wharf’s parade features over 60 boats adorned with lights and other decorations (6 pm)
Sunday: Christmas trees and wreaths are for sale at the National Arboretum (10 am - 4 pm) | Hook Hall hosts a holiday market with 50+ vendors selling seasonal gifts and food (4-7 pm)

Starting next summer, buses may be free for D.C. residents. If the Metro For DC bill, expected to pass on Tuesday, takes effect, D.C. will become the first major city to offer the bus service for free.
In somewhat of a conclusion to the Casa Ruby debacle, D.C.’s Attorney General is alleging that founder Ruby Corado, who suddenly left D.C for El Salvador, stole $400k+ and underpaid employees at the LGBT nonprofit. Casa Ruby also owes millions in back rent and other bills.
