Saturday: Chevy Chase main street turns into a winter market and gingerbread spot (1-5 pm) | depths of wikipedia live delves into stories emerging from the popular Instagram account (8 pm, Capital Turnaround) | Singer Bryson Tiller performs at The Fillmore (8 pm)
Sunday: The Right Proper Birthday Cabaret celebrates the brewers’ 10 year anniversary (6-9 pm)

Eater announced its 2023 awards, decreeing Vera in Ivy City vibe of the year and, MIDC’s favorite chef, Masako Morishita of Perry’s, chef of the year. Georgetown’s KYOJIN took top honors for restaurant of the year.
Another buzzy Greek restaurant opened this month - this time, its Balos, a new Dupont Circle spot with lots of fish and shared plates on the menu.
There’s still a few weeks to check out holiday-themed spots, including Colada Shop off U St and Miracle at Death Punch in Adams Morgan.

With crime rates rising in D.C., the police and mayor unveiled a “real-time crime center” designed to monitor live video across hundreds of cameras around the city. A few other cities, including Baltimore, have similar centers, all of which have raised concerns with the ACLU and other privacy-focused organizations regarding the use of the data.
