Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is planning a Penn Quarter outpost of his popular London spot, Street Pizza. The main hook? Unlimited slices. The restaurant is expected to open in the fall.
Washington compiled MDW food/drink options, including BBQs and lazy Monday brunches.
what’s on our minds?
With absentee ballots arriving in mailboxes this week, it’s as good of time as any to start paying attention to the DC elections. Ballot drop boxes open today, with early-in person voting from June 10-19 and the election day on June 21. For all DC voters, the mayoral race, council chairperson, council at-large, and attorney general are contested races. Voters in Wards 1, 3, 5, and 6 also will choose their ward-specific councilmember. Although this is technically a primary election, it’s the one that counts, with the Democratic nominee all but assured to win in the general. Below are voting guides/ endorsements:

what are we watching/reading?
The Staircase on HBO. This miniseries, an adaptation of the popular Netflix documentary by the same name, dramatizes the true story of a man convicted of killing his wife by pushing her down the stairs. The show’s receiving rave reviews - Roger Ebert’s team calls it a “masterful, stark true crime epic.” Particularly notable, the show adeptly weaves in society’s obsession with true crime and its effects on the case and the family.
Lots of tv shows coming this summer! Here’s 44 Vulture recommends.
