what’s on our minds?
Popular Wharf restaurant Moon Rabbit closed suddenly on Monday amidst a unionization effort among staff. . Moon Rabbit was part of the InterContinental Hotel, which made the decision to close the restaurant soon after about 80% of the restaurant’s staff signed a petition to hold a union election. Unsurprisingly, the timing of the closure is not sitting well with employees and supporters, with protests this week at the InterContinental Hotel. Acclaimed chef Kevin Tien will retain the intellectual property of Moon Rabbit while the InterContinental restaurant will shift to a yet-to-be determined breakfast spot.
