Friday: Today is Bike to Work Day with ~100 pit spots in the area offering t-shirts and treats | Comedian Whitney Cummings, fresh off a Netflix special, stops by Tysons’ Capital One Hall as part of her Touch Me Tour (7 pm)
Saturday: The Dragon Boat Festival returns to Georgetown with races throughout the day | In Tysons, Perchfest provides a sneak peak to a new 11 story park that includes mini golf and music (12 pm - 11 pm; continuing into Sunday afternoon) | Saturday could be a good day to stay inside (or at the pool), as the high is expected to reach 97 degrees, the hottest weather in May in over a decade.
Sunday: Ballston hosts Quarterfest, with food and performances across the neighborhood (12-8 pm)
All weekend: The Preakness, a music festival with a side of horse racing, is back this weekend, with Megan Thee Stallion headlining tonight and Marshmello and The Chainsmokers at the Infield Fest tomorrow. Tickets are available for both days. | Dance-pop duo Sofi Tukker performs at 9:30 Club Saturday and Sunday nights. | The peonies at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg are expected to reach peak bloom this weekend.

Botanical Bar, a vegan cocktail spot, opens next week in Dupont’s DC Vegan restaurant. The spot will feature cocktails and mocktails that only use plant-based ingredients.
what’s on our minds?
With COVID cases rising in the D.C. area, some theaters are choosing to extend their mask and vaccine requirements through at least July 31. The theaters, part of the Theatre Washington coalition, are some of the few places in the area adding in the requirements after Mayor Bowser ended the mandates in February (Kennedy Center is a notable exception).

what are we watching/reading?
Love on the Spectrum, U.S. on Netflix. This docuseries, a spin-off of the popular Australian version, features seven adults with autism as they go on dates and look for love. The show is heartwarming and a nice change of pace from over-produced reality shows.
