what’s on our minds?
After a rabid fox attack took over D.C.-ers social media feeds after biting nine people near the Capitol, DCist looked into the costs of rabies treatment. It’s expensive - with costs exceeding $15k+ for the first treatment (not to mention the physical pain of the process).
There’s a house for sale in Fairfax that goes for $800k and includes….a person living in the basement. Per the listing, highlighted by Zillow Gone Wild, the “home will convey with a person(s) living in lower level with no lease in place.” Turns out there was at least one buyer willing to deal with an extra roommate - as of yesterday, the house is under contract.
Quick links to other weekly #goodreads:

Does traveling to every country count if you don’t post on the Internet? - per The Washington Post, “Travel influencing is lucrative and largely unregulated. A new lawsuit attempts to bring accountability to the industry.”

what are we watching/reading?
White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch on Netflix. The zeitgeist of fashion for many a 2000s high schooler - Abercrombie and Fitch - is the subject of a new documentary streaming next Tuesday. There’s a lot to unpack - racism, sexual misconduct, and other discriminatory behavior clung to the brand as its preppy aesthetic commanded teens’ wallets.
Our Great National Parks on Netflix. This five-part series follows President Obama as he travels through five national parks and protected areas in the world, including the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
p.s. we’ll be off next week - see you in two fridays!
