what’s on our minds?
Not what anyone wants to hear, but keep an eye out for COVID this weekend - case counts are slowly climbing in the District and there’s been a number of high-profile positive cases (Mayor Bowser, Speaker Pelosi, and a number of other politicians). Per New York Magazine, “COVID Is All the Rage in D.C. Right Now.”
Downtown thoroughfare K St NW will be redesigned next year between 12th and 21st St. Most significantly - the relatively unhelpful service roads will be removed and replaced with protected bus and bike lanes in the center of the road. Construction is expected to begin early next year.

Everything Everywhere All at Once in theaters. Michelle Yeoh stars in this A24 movie described as “a bonkers and bizarrely wonderful genre mashup.” It’s ostensibly a sci-fi/action film that enters the multiverse as Yeoh has the opportunity to save the world. It also carries a 97% rating (audience and critics) on Rotten Tomatoes.
Tons of books will be released this month, including a new book by station Eleven author Emily St. John Mandel (Sea of Tranquility), memoirs, and hotly anticipated YA novels.
