Hi-Lawn at Union Market hosts a St. Patrick’s Day celebration throughout the weekend in partnership with Fadó Irish Pub (the pub closed in 2020 after 22-years in Chinatown)
Eater compiled 15 of the best vegan restaurants in the area (I’m partial to the newcomer Planta, Chaia Tacos, Pow Pow, and Fancy Radish)
looking ahead: Indian restaurant Bindaas’ first fast-casual spot, Bindaas Bowls and Rolls, opens in Penn Quarter on April 7.
what’s on our minds?
The Senate bill that passed permanent savings time this week? Turns out its passage was kind of an accident - it sailed through via a mechanism known as unanimous consent, which means that no Senator stood up to object. Many Senators didn’t know the bill was up for a vote. And while generally it seems like most Senators were supportive, there is one who would have objected - Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas. Except, oops, his staff didn’t tell him the bill was up.
